Be careful, watch where you step, be cautious, watch out for hyenas… sentences we have been told over and over since we were old enough to listen. We have lived in shells for so long we can’t even sit back and stretch out your legs, let the sun kiss your skin and the breeze run through your hair. We have been so consumed by staying ahead of everybody else, being the best that we can be, not embarrassing our families or even a model society member; that we forget to live. What makes a trip worthwhile is the journey, the time spent on the road, engaging in foreign culture, marveling in the scenery outside your window, buying local food at a local vendor just to try something new, stopping to take pictures of everything remotely interesting.
Life is a movie, but there won’t be a sequel.
Life is just like that. We should take pleasure in the smallest thrills, go out on a Wednesday, hang with friends all weekend, get a camera and walk the hills taking pictures of everything you like, try out new foods every now and then, take a trip to a new region you never new existed until a week ago and be as spontaneous as humanly possible. Life is the trip, enjoy the journey. No one knows what awaits at the destination.
